End of Summer Term 1 Newsletter
Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,
It has been a wonderful summer term so far, and I am incredibly proud of how our school community has embraced the many opportunities and challenges this season has brought.
I would like to start by commending our Year 11 and Year 13 students, who have been doing so well with their examinations. Their dedication and hard work during this intensive period have been truly impressive. As they reach the midpoint of this busy season, I want to remind them to ensure they use some of the upcoming half term to rest and recharge. Maintaining a balance between focused study and well-deserved downtime is essential for their well-being and continued success.
In addition to academic efforts, we have seen some amazing sporting achievements, especially in athletics. Our Junior and Intermediate squads recently triumphed at the English Schools Athletics Cup, with the Junior team taking first place and the Intermediates securing second. Furthermore, both our Year 9 and Year 10 teams were crowned champions at the Bexley Schools Athletics Championships, showing incredible resilience and talent even in challenging weather conditions.
I am also delighted to announce the successful appointment of two new Deputy Headteachers for September. Following a very rigorous two-day selection process, Rachel Dixon and Louise Cooper will be joining Hannah Mitchem as Deputy Headteachers. We are very much looking forward to them starting their new roles in the next academic year.
As we head into the break, I wish everyone a wonderful half term. I hope you all have the chance to enjoy the glorious weather and spend quality time with family and friends.
Finally, to our Year 11 and Year 13 students as you prepare for your next set of examinations - You have already shown immense grit and capability; keep your focus sharp, believe in your preparation, and remember that "from here it's possible".
Warmest regards,
Sarina Totty, Headteacher/CEO
