Staying Safe in the Heat
Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,
With the weather forecast predicting very warm temperatures over the next week or more, we want to ensure all our students remain comfortable and focused on their learning.
From Thursday 18th June, students will not be required to bring or wear their school blazers to school.
While we are allowing blazers to not be worn, standards of uniform must remain high.
Please ensure that all other uniform requirements are followed correctly:
- Shirts and blouses must be tucked in at all times.
- Skirts must be worn at their proper length and must not be rolled up at the waistband.
- Shoes - Students must wear appropriate school shoes as per the uniform policy. Please note that trainers, canvas shoes, sliders, and Crocs are not permitted, even in warm weather.
Before storing blazers away for the week, please double-check all pockets. It is very easy to forget daily essentials, so please ensure students have removed:
- Bus passes or oyster cards
- House keys and locker keys, fobs
- Wallets
Staying Safe in the Heat
To help everyone cope with the rising temperatures, we strongly encourage all students to:
- Keep Hydrated - Bring a reusable water bottle to school. Water stations are available around the site for refills throughout the day.
- Stay Protected - Apply sunscreen before leaving for school in the morning.
- Seek Shade - Utilise shaded areas during break and lunchtime to avoid prolonged exposure to the direct sun.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe, comfortable, and smart during this warm spell.
Kind regards,
Sarina Totty
