Weekly Parent Communications: Friday 9th January 2026

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Parking complaint – Upton Close
Following the concerns raised and communicated to parents in the weekly emails of 21st November and 5thDecember 2025, about congestion and parking in the local area, I am disappointed to share that a collective complaint has been received from the residents of Upton Close and the Housing Association responsible for some of those properties and driveways.  Sadly, it has been brought to our attention that some parents are continuing to park without due care when dropping/collecting their children.

Upton Close is at the back of the school, with an access road used by residents and our own Townley staff for access into our back car park.  Congestion in this very narrow close has a knock on effect out onto the main road, which then forms the Kent bound slip road for the A2, and impacts traffic exiting the A2 from London.

We share in the concerns of the residents and the Housing Association that the potential for a serious incident is high and support them in requesting further action by Bexley Council and the local Police.  On these very dark and wet mornings, I implore you again to please drive and park safely and legally with respect for all road users, pedestrians and local residents.

 Atom Learning
Townley continue to partner with Atom Learning to provide free access to Atom Home (normally £575.90/year) to all Pupil Premium eligible students in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11). We are proud to welcome students from all backgrounds to Townley. This partnership aims to encourage even greater representation at our school while also supporting under-resourced families in our community. There is a free trial available for non-pupil premium families.

What is Atom Home?
Atom Home is an online platform that supports KS2 learning and 11+ preparation through practice questions, video tutorials, and mock tests. It helps children build confidence with KS2 objectives and, where relevant, prepare for 11+ exams.

Do you know someone who is eligible?
If you know someone whose child is preparing for the 11+, or is in need of Key Stage 2 learning support, please share this link with them: https://atomlearning.com/pupil-premium/townleygrammar - After completing the form on this page, their primary school will be asked to verify their pupil premium eligibility. Their Atom Home account will then be created.

If you would like to find out more, please email pupilpremium@atomlearning.com.
