Townley Grammar school is looking for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to become a valued member of our team. Based in Bexleyheath, London, this role offers a superb opportunity for aspiring teachers to gain essential classroom experience, or for qualified educators seeking a flexible and rewarding position.
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of learning, supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, and ensuring students remain engaged and on task. This is an excellent chance to gain essential, hands-on classroom experience within a supportive secondary school environment, allowing you to develop key skills in classroom management and student engagement. For qualified educators, it provides the flexibility to continue contributing to student success without the full-time commitment of a permanent teaching post. You'll be joining a school committed to fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere, where every member of staff contributes to our students' achievements.
The post holder will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check with appropriate barred list checks, or the equivalent, and must be eligible to work in the UK. All staff are expected to be committed to the Equal Opportunities Policy.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This job description is not necessarily a comprehensive definition of the post.
It will be reviewed regularly and it may be subject to modification at any time after consultation with the post holder.
Closing Date for Applications: 12.00 pm (noon) Friday 12 September 2025
Interviews week commencing: Monday 14th July 2025 or upon receipt of application.
We encourage applicants to apply early, as the school reserves the right to close the vacancy should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.
