Open evening by ticket only:    

Tuesday 25th September                    6.00pm – 9.00pm

All visitors will have the opportunity to tour the school with senior pupils, see displays of work and talk with girls and staff.  The Head Teacher and senior staff will address visitors in the Hall at 6.00pm, 7.00pm and 8.00pm.  Children are welcome to accompany their parents.

To avoid congestion on your tour of the school please telephone the school on 020 8304 8311 indicating which time between 6.00pm and 9.00pm would be most convenient for you.

      
 
Bexleyheath town centre has many car parks, which are within walking distance of the school. 
Regrettably there is no parking space in the school grounds and because of overcrowding in the building
entry to the

Dear Parents and Staff, 

   ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

THURSDAY 20th SEPTEMBER 2007

The Annual General Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association will be held in the new building in the theatre on Thursday 20th September 2007 at 8.00pm. An especially warm welcome is extended to all new parents who are, of course, automatically members of the Association. 

The agenda includes the election of the Committee for the new school year, and nominations should be given to me, either verbally or in writing, by 20th September.  Nominations will only be accepted from the floor if we have insufficient numbers.  Self-nominations are acceptable.

I would be grateful if you could please complete the slip below and return it by 17th September to enable us to provide refreshments.  The meeting is for parents and children are not invited on this occasion, however, we will finish by about 9pm.  I look forward to seeing you on the 20th.

On Saturday 15th September the 2006 building is open to the public as part of the ‘Open House London’ from 10am – 1pm.  Parents are welcome and the architect will be available to answer any questions about his design.

Dear Parents

I hope that you had an enjoyable summer and that you are happy with your daughter’s first few days at the school.  Beginning a new school can be a challenging time for pupils but also for their parents as they try to understand how a school works and why things are done in a particular way.  It is important that your daughter sees that we are all working together for her benefit and that we do discuss issues on the telephone or in person.

The school has a strong pastoral system, where teachers and heads of year work hard to establish routines and a good relationship with the girls to enable everyone to feel supported in their academic work.  The staff spend a lot of time with year 7 pupils on familiar pastoral issues such as friendship problems and we have a tried and tested way of dealing with them.

I would like to invite you to a short meeting on Thursday 20th September at 7.00 pm in the new building in the theatre to discuss how we deal with some of the pastoral issues, which might occur in your daughter’s first year.  Mrs Whitmore, your daughter’s Head of Year will be presenting the most common issues that we have to deal with illustrated by drama presentations from girls in year 8.   After the AGM there will be an opportunity for you to meet other parents over a class of wine.

This meeting is for parents and children are not invited on this occasion, however, it will finish at about 7.50 pm in time for the AGM of the PTA at 8.00 pm.

I would be grateful if you could sign the attached slip and return it to school via your daughter and I look forward to seeing you on the 20th
