AQA Baccalaureate

The AQA Baccalaureate – a new and exciting opportunity for year 12 students at Townley Grammar.
The AQA Baccalaureate is composed of four essential elements, each developing key  facets  of the students’ all round education:       .

AS in three subjects. AQAdark
AS in Critical Thinking
Extended Project
Enrichment activities

Why choose the AQA Bacc?
It demonstrates that a student has gained a fuller, more rounded education and enhances the skills and qualities that universities and employers are looking for.
It is built on the solid foundation of the students’ main A level choices but in addition:
 –        Critical Thinking develops skills and encourages attitudes which complement other subjects in the curriculum and prepares students for the academic and intellectual demands of higher education and future employment.
 –        Extended Project offers opportunities for students to manage tasks using their own initiatives and resources and thus develop their independent learning skills.
 –        Enrichment Activities will enable students to have formal recognition of other experiences whilst in the sixth form.
The AQA Baccalaureate is an opportunity for students to significantly improve their further learning, education and employment prospects
